My work takes a narrative approach to representation and is heavily influenced by cinematography and comics. I strive for an image to be able to tell a moment of a story within a single piece which revolves around the emergence of Artificial Intelligence. Humanity constantly makes things more like themselves, whether that is installing air conditioning to regulate temperatures or how we domesticated wild dogs to be more “civilized.” With this search for artificial intelligence, we are creating something closer and closer to the human mind, as that is the highest benchmark for intelligence that we currently possess. If we are someday successful in creating this intelligence the question arises, have we created something new, or simply created something human?

My works revolve around portraying these moments of “Humanity” with robots filling in the places in which we would often imagine ourselves: moments of compassion, of heartache, of yearning, of defeat, and of hope.
